Did you know that Brickell City Centre was made from a high volume of recycled materials? This helped reduce the demand for new materials and gave second life to ones that would have otherwise become waste. We can ensure a cleaner environment for our future, but only by practicing what we preach.

In 2021, a donation to One Tree Planted has led to 10,550 new Florida trees that, when fully mature, will reduce an annual 500,000+ pounds of CO2 in the air.

In 2021, we were proud to partner with Miami-Dade County, the City of Miami, and our Commissioners, alongside experts like Moffat & Nichol and the EDSA, in urging exploration of innovative, sustainable methods that will safeguard the City for future generations.  The proposed solutions for a natural & hybrid infrastructure aimed to protect against potential dangers of natural disasters.

Come experience BCC’s Climate Ribbon! The breath-taking artistic structure arches across the entire complex, spanning 15,000 sq ft. The innovative trellis naturally cools and collects an estimated 3 million gallons of rainwater per year to be reused for landscaping and irrigation. Discover a piece of BCC that currently lives in Museum Park. In 2012, Swire Properties donated 40 historic oak, gumbo limbo, and strangler fig trees from its Brickell City Centre’s construction to Museum Park.

Every year, participating buildings are challenged to see which can achieve the best water and energy efficiency. In 2021, Swire Properties in Miami entered the challenge. As of 2022 and as part of our BE305 efforts, when annualized, Brickell City Centre’s electricity bills site-wide were reduced by 3,168,951 kWh or by nearly 20% compared to 2019. Water consumption has also been reduced by 17% compared to 2019 YTD.
