As we officially unveil our future newest development, The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, these values have underpinned the hard work and innovation of our team who have designed something truly exceptional that will become a signature of the Miami skyline. One Island Drive is a continuation of our commitment to the evolution of Miami’s thriving Brickell neighborhood and I’m excited to share the first development details.

The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami is destined to be a global destination. Located on the southernmost point of Brickell Key which Swire has developed for over 40 years, it will be a true luxury waterfront property that will set a new standard for elegant and sophisticated island living in Miami. It will consist of The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, along with a redeveloped hotel that is positioned to be the luxury hotel brand’s new flagship in North America.

Since Swire started acquiring land on Brickell Key in the late 1970s, we have worked to create a vibrant community within an oasis of tranquility on the fringe of the urban core. Our relationship with the local community continues to be top of mind and as we move into this new chapter on Brickell Key, we will thoughtfully manage the construction process and prioritize the wellbeing of our neighbors. Swire is also committed to preserving the Village Green for the benefit of the residents indefinitely, ensuring the Brickell Key community can continue to enjoy this open, green space. Additionally, we are excited to announce that, as part of the development of The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, Swire will extend and upgrade the public bay walk around the project site, thereby creating a full perimeter path encircling the island. As a part of our commitment to resilience and sustainability, we will also be upgrading the seawall around The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami and working together with the Brickell Key residents to make sure the entire island is protected against the flood surge and rising sea levels.

In terms of the new development itself, we have assembled an impressive global design team to bring One Island Drive to life, including lead architect Kohn Pedersen Fox, along with Parisian designers Tristan Auer and Laura Gonzalez, who will make their distinct marks on the Residences and hotel interiors, respectively. Thai design firm Shma will create the lush surrounding landscape. The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami will be the first new development commission for Auer, Gonzalez and Shma in the United States.

Last but not least, we are thrilled to be collaborating with Mandarin Oriental on this truly remarkable project. Twenty-three years ago, Swire and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group joined forces to open Mandarin Oriental, Miami, elevating the level of hospitality in the locale. With The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, we will take it to the next level, offering residents and hotel guests the highest standard of service, accommodation, and luxury amenities. The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami will be the culmination of over four decades of dedication to executing the master plan on Brickell Key. It represents the last chance to buy into a new development on the island. With convenient access to downtown Brickell, Brickell City Centre and the future One Brickell City Centre, The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami offers the best of both worlds: private island living just moments from the dynamic metropolitan hub of Miami.
